HOME of Arts Entertainment, the Organization behind the Pumula Royal Arts and Community Awards(PRACA) have revealed that the fourth edition of the Awards will be held on December, 16 at a venue yet to announced.
PRACA Awards is a three day annual event which seeks to celebrate and honor outstanding works by Pumula artists and and Community members in different fields.
Organizers of the Awards are promising a bigger and better edition as they will be introducing five new Awards categories that are beyond Pumula borders.
In a Statement, Awards Director Happy Mpofu said:
"This year's edition promises to be bigger and better than ever, showcasing the incredible talent and dedication within the Pumula community and Bulawayo
With a wide range of award categories, including music, dance, theatre, visual arts, literature, and community service, the PRACA Awards strive to honor individuals and organizations that have made a significant impact in their respective fields. The awards serve as a platform to showcase the rich artistic and cultural heritage of Pumula, while also acknowledging the tireless efforts of those working towards the betterment of the community".
"Pumula Royal Arts and Community Awards (PRACA) is also excited to announce the introduction of five new award categories that extend beyond the borders of Pumula.These categories aim to recognize and celebrate the exceptional talents and contributions of artists and community members from outside Pumula who have made a significant impact in their respective fields," said Mpofu.
Mpofu alluded that the prestigious event is set to shine a spotlight on Pumula and it's neighboring communities's artistic talent and cultural heritage.
"The PRACA Awards have always been committed to promoting artistic excellence and community development within Pumula. However, we recognize that talent and creativity know no boundaries. By expanding our reach, we hope to create a more inclusive platform that showcases the diverse talents and contributions of neighbouring communities"
"The PRACA Awards not only recognize excellence in the arts but also encourage community engagement and social responsibility. The event provides a platform for artists and community members to come together, exchange ideas, and inspire one another to create positive change," he said.
Below is a breakdown of the three day programme:
Day 1(14 December): Charity Fun Run, this event aims to create awareness about mental health and depression, as well as other important social issues.
Day Two(15 December): Film Screening, the event provides an opportunity to screen films that highlight relevant social issues and align with the values if the Pumula Royal Arts and Community Awards.
Day Three(16 December): Main Awards Event, this is the highlight of the entire program, where the winners in various categories are announced and recognized for their outstanding contributions to the arts and Community development.
