The ruling party, , has officially welcomed back senior party member , who has been readmitted into the party and appointed to serve in its Council of Elders.
The announcement was made by the party’s Secretary for Information and Publicity, , during a press conference held at the party’s headquarters.
Mutsvangwa said the return of Mutasa follows an olive branch extended by , the President and First Secretary of ZANU-PF, as part of efforts to strengthen unity within the party.
Mutasa has been admitted into the Council of Elders, a body made up of senior party members who provide guidance and counsel to the party’s leadership based on their experience in the liberation struggle and public service.
“One of the stalwarts of the revolutionary party has returned to ZANU-PF,” said Mutsvangwa. “What remains central is that each one of us left our homes to join the liberation struggle. Cde Didymus Mutasa has now returned and has been admitted into the Council of Elders.”
He said the development reflects the party’s commitment to unity and reconciliation while drawing on the experience of long-serving members to strengthen the organisation.
Mutasa is expected to contribute to the Council of Elders by offering advice and institutional memory to support the party’s leadership as it continues to focus on national development and party cohesion.
