The Minister of Local Government and Public Works, Daniel Garwe, today received a consignment of heavy construction equipment from Construction Developers in Harare as part of a partnership aimed at accelerating national infrastructure development.
The equipment, which includes excavators, bulldozers and graders, is expected to be deployed to priority construction sites across the country to support ongoing infrastructure projects. The initiative is set to enhance the capacity of local authorities and government departments responsible for road construction, land development and other public works.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Minister Garwe commended the private sector for partnering with Government in driving national development. He said such collaborations are critical in improving service delivery and ensuring that key infrastructure projects are completed efficiently.
The partnership between Government and Construction Developers reflects growing cooperation between the public and private sectors in supporting Zimbabwe’s infrastructure agenda. Officials said the equipment will immediately be dispatched to priority sites where construction and rehabilitation works are underway.
