YESTERDAY the newly appointed Minister of Tourism & Hospitality Industry Honourable Barbara Rwodzi joined fellow Zimbabweans in supporting the country's rugby team, The Cheetahs at the Rugby Africa Sevens Cup group C matches held at Harare Sports Club.
The Cheetahs who are seeking their maiden Olympic qualification sealed a spot in the quarter finals after beating Uganda 35-5 in the last game.
In her remarks, Minister Rwodzi said:
"Well we have spoken of sports, our culture, we have spoken of our food, we are talking of our destinations, Victoria Falls, we promise you that we want to see a different Victoria Falls in the next five years.What do we want, is infrastructure, physical infrastructure that is needed, of course financial infrastructure that is needed.Where are we placing it and how are we going to be doing it, that is what we are looking at"
"We have other destinations that people do not even know, Gonarezhou but it has so much tourists going there.We have Mutarazi, Kariba, we have Great Zimbabwe, we have so many destinations but what I am saying is it's not only destinations that should create good tourism for the country but it's also even the people in the country and activities we do in the country that should create good Tourism," said Rwodzi
