Herentals FC walked away with bragging rights following a 1-0 win yesterday against Dynamos FC at the National Sports Stadium.

Dynamos missed a chance to sneak into the top 4 after title chasing Ngezi Platinum, Highlanders and Manica Diamonds dropped points during the weekend.

Currently on 5th position Dynamos is now level on points with Chicken Inn tied at 40points  followed by Herentals who trail by 1 point on 7th position while leaders Ngezi Platinum have 51 points.

Zvishavane based FC Platinum have since claimed 2nd spot becoming strong contenters for the title and dislodging Highlanders who seem to have lost steam with few games left.

Red hot FC Platinum have made their intentions clear by recording straight wins in their last 5 games and also collecting maximum points during the weekend against log leaders Ngezi Platinum.

Speaking after the match Dynamos Head Coach Genesis Mangombe highlighted that failure to follow game plan led to the defeat.

"It was all triggered by the way we started, if we started according to our game plan I don't think this team was going to score us this goal but it's a game of football at some point we have to concede at times we have to lose and move on", he said.

Herentals FC coach Kumbirai Mutiwekuziwa applauded his boys for their brilliant performance and also highlighted their strategy.

"Our players are almost the same and we work as a team, we tell them that team work leads to winning and today they did the hard work, they utilised their chances".

"It was a difficult game because Dynamos us playing good football, they play possession based football and we just had to neutralise their midfield si we introduced players who could match and stop Dynamos midfielders", said Mutiwekuziwa.
