GOLDEN Hotspurs and FC Stars are set to lock horns in a mouth watering Townshend and Butcher cup final which is to be held at White City Stadium on Sunday.
The two local rivalries which play their trade in the Bulawayo Amateur Football Association (BAFA) league and are both based in Barbourfields-Ntabazinduna.
Speaking during an interview, FC Stars coach West Bhebhe highlighted with confidence that his team's depth is capable of overthrowing any team.
"I have a squad that is up for any challenge, the opponents we had enroute to the finals gave us a challenge and quality football. As FC Stars we learn from our opponents".
He also spoke about the difficulties they faced against stubborn opponents in the cup semi finals and confirmed that final is not going to be easy.
"Mat High City was a challenge, they were well organised on and off the field. In a cup clash the best prepared side always wins, our opponents for the final are a good side with experienced players and a well decorated coach but goals determine the winner.",said coach West Bhebhe.
The Townshend and Butcher Cup marks it's 66th edition having been first contested in 1957.
Golden Hotspurs coach Finidi "The Viper" George did not hide his intentions for the main prize and also issued a warning to the opponents that they will use full force.
"We are well prepared for the final infact we prepared for this way back, we are waiting for them and on the day people will see what we mean when we say the institute Supporters like SaSane will run away in shame as they watch pure football pure play",said coach Finidi.
However along the way Golden Hotspurs had to snatch late 2-1 wins against Mpilo FC in the quarter final and Safeguard where in each of the matches played Spurs came from behind.
Meanwhile FC Stars recorded land slide victories both in the quarter final and semi final defeating 3rd Avenue 5-3 and Mat High City 3-1 to reach the final.
Last year's tournament champions Titans FC did not take part due to their absence in the BAFA league while LA Protonaz the runners up where this year disqualified after failing to produce players license resulting in a walk over and Mat High City progressed to the semi finals.
