Zebra Revolution FC Crowned Bulawayo Division Two Champions

TSHABALALA based outfit Zebra Revolution FC have secured promotion to the Southern region Division one following their brilliant season, BANO NEWS can reveal.

Speaking during an interview Zebra Revolution Head Coach Mkhokheli Dube could not hide his excitement and applauded his team for hard work and commitment.


"It feels great and it brings some sense of pride in the fact that these boys have worked so hard this year in making sure we deliver our goals which was to do better than last year, making sure we won all our home games and win the championship get promoted",he said.

He also highlighted challenges encountered during the course of the season as well as the solutions to curb the challenge.

"The only challenge that we had was conceding goals but the moment we started keeping clean sheets, the boys started the enjoy the game of football", said coach Dube.

Zebras Revolution FC made their intentions clear and pure during the beginning of the year by first winning the ZIFA Bulawayo Division Two pre-season tournament during the Easter holidays.

After collecting some  silverware earlier Zebra Revolution FC back in the league embarked on a victory streak leaving a trail of destruction to opponents winning by bigger margins. Defeating potential rivals Chicken Inn FC 4-1, BCC 5-0, Nust 3-0 and pumping 9 past Herentals.


Regarded as one of the most difficult seasons in Divisions two which was filled with more competition Zebra Revolution FC took control of the drive seat from sloppy Chicken Inn FC who were inconsistent.

Dube led Zebra Revolution marched into match day 30 knowing a draw would secure them a  promotion and claim the 2023 division two championship meanwhile Chicken Inn solely needed a win and hoped that log leaders would lose inorder to win the title.

However Zebra Revolution ended their campaign in style claiming a 3-0 victory against Bantu Leopards and were also gifted with 2023 Championship cup and medals.

Following a successful career locally and abroad Mkhokheli Dube hung his boots and decided to plough back into the community by forming a an academy that seeks to help aspiring youths chase their football careers and excel.

"Zebra Revolution Football club was formed on 18 June 2015 with the main objective to plough back into the society by empowering youngsters with age ranging from 7 to 24 years from my neighborhood where I grew up to become great soccer players and outstanding human beings".

Mkhokheli Dube is a holder of a coaching certificate, Caf C licence from Brazilian Soccer Institute (BFUT) and a ZIFA Level 3 coaching badge.

In his playing days, Mkhokheli Dube plied his trade as a striker in America with New England Revolution (USA) , Amazulu FC (SA), and locally Highlanders, Chicken Inn, Bulawayo City, Platinum FC.
