POLICE in Bulawayo are still in search for suspected drug users who earlier this year in March assaulted and stabbed a man in Makokoba leaving him injured.
Paul Tinashe Gushure (29) was approached by 3 unknown suspects while on his way to visit a colleague in Makokoba surbubs. The trio accused Paul for walking like a woman and used an unidentified object to stab him before fleeing from the scene, leaving him bleeding.
Sibongile Gushure the sister to the victim told BANO NEWS that it was heartbreaking to learn that her brother was assaulted in broad daylight.
"I am really saddened by what happened to my brother, I really hope the police will find the suspects so that justice can be served. It can also be anyone who will be their next victim I encourage the community help stop the escalating cases of drug abuse because if this doesn't stop we are definitely heading for chaos", she said.
"We have been making a follow up with the police and last week they told us that with the assistance of the community they will definitely catch them, as it was rumoured that one of them was seen by the Makokoba shops at night smoking", said Ms Gushure.
The victim Paul Tinashe Gushure was quickly rushed at Mpilo Central Hospital for treatment and a police report was later filed at the Mzilikazi police station.
It is believed that the suspects are still at large and a police manhunt has been launched to apprehend the suspects before they could cause more harm since they are rumoured to be drug addicts.
Cases of assault, robbery and theft mostly of suspects under the influence of illegal drugs and substance are currently on the increase and members of the public have been encouraged to report these cases so as to help curb the fight against drug abuse.
