"UMAHLEKISA Comedy Club" is set host a Comedy Roast for legendary musician and politician Sandra Ndebele at Rainbow Hotel on the 17th of February in Bulawayo.
The show is dubbed 'The Roast of Sandra Ndebele'
A roast is a form of comedy, in which a specific individual, a guest of honor, is subjected to jokes at their expense, intended to amuse the event's wider audience. Such events are intended to honor a specific individual in a unique way.
Speaking to BANO NEWS, Umahlekisa Comedy Director Ntando Van Moyo said the show is aimed at celebrating Sandra Ndebele's contributions to the Bulawayo arts industry and the country as a whole.
"The preparations for the show are now at an advanced stage, the guests are now prepared and my Acts are also now prepared.The aim of the Show is to elevate comedy in Bulawayo in terms of Roasts and also to elevate the Sandra Ndebele brand, Umahlekisa brand as well as to give a variety in terms of stand up comedy especially in the roast element," he said.
The Roast Master for the much awaited comedy show is none other than Ntando Van Moyo who will be joined by the City's talented Comedians, Media Personalities and Entertainers including Kudakwashe Takundwa, media personality, Carl Joshua Ncube, comedian, Babongile Sikhonjwa, broadcaster, Ezra Tshisa, broadcaster and Sithandazile Dube who is a poet.
Moyo promised the public an outstanding and mouth-watering comedy show where they will also get to know Sandra Ndebele better.
"People should expect something new you know that they've never experienced.I mean Sandra is a big brand, she's a politician, business woman and an artist.People should really expect a lot in terms of content covering all aspects of her as a person as well content around panelists that will be involved".
"The guests will be there but unfortunately I cannot preempt who will be coming but we have high profile people who will be coming for the show and we're actually excited that they will get to Experience comedy maybe for the first time hear in Bulawayo in that high regard.We will also have surprise panelists that will be coming on the day, people that have worked with Sandra, people that have interacted with her at different levels of her brand".
