AFTER holding a life changing youth business expo, Vision Arts Foundation seeks to do more community development works.


On the 2nd of March 2024, Vision Arts foundation held a youth business expo at Nehemiah Project Centre in Cowdray Park. The event was held under the theme "A Youth With A Vision". 


This event provided a platform for the youths to showcase their abilities and their product.


A number of youths have turned into arts and entrepreneurship as a source of income for survival.The event was graced by the Minister of State, the Member of Parliament for Cowdray Park who were both represented in absentia.


The event was a collaboration of Vision Arts foundation alongside other youth-led organisations such as Home of Arts Foundation from Pumula.


Youths from different parts of Bulawayo mainly Cowdray Park and Pumula showcased their wares, local artistes also provided edutainment for the audience at the big day for the youths in business.


Poet Lethu, Stiffla, Toksik Balaclava, Anashe, Sinazo and Maestro Da Hustler are some of the local artistes who headlined the event just to mention a few.


Speaking to Nomagugu Ndaba on the sidelines of the youth business expo, a youth who came to exhibit at this particular youth business expo.


She said 


"The event is very important to us and we appreciate this opportunity as it gives us, youths, a platform to showcase what we produce"


" I hope more business expos are on their way " 


In attendance were stakeholders which include the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe, National Art Gallery of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Youth Council, National Aids Council, AHF Zimbabwe among other stakeholders who were present. 


In an interview with this publication ,the event organizers Vision Arts Foundation chairman Welsey Thabiso Gandary commented that this is only the beginning. 


He said, 


"The Youth Business Expo was a way of approaching the government and high offices with the mantra that we want your support as youths. 


We were also fighting social ills such as drug and substance abuse, in our communities we have talent and the expo was to provide a platform to showcase that we have it.


We were also advertising the art and craft business which can keep them occupied and get some in their pockets in return"


Vision Arts Foundation founder also shares a glimpse of what is coming as he mentioned that this was a first step to a journey of a thousand miles.
