Beitbridge Film Expo roars to Life

Today marks the commencement of the highly anticipated Beitbridge Film Expo, taking place at Beitbridge Hotel and scheduled to run until the 23rd of this month.

The opening ceremony, held today, will be graced by Mr. Cosam Zulu, the Cultural Officer at the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Arts, and Recreation, who will serve as the guest of honour.



Joining the ceremony as special guests are Mr. Vela, the Beitbridge Provincial Arts Manager of the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ), Representative from Ministry of Education - MR Edga Sibanda, Representative from the Ministry of Women Affairs - Madam Mungwiniri, and a delegation from the Culture Fund, the official sponsors of the event, supported by the European Union Zimbabwe.

Attendees will be treated to captivating performances by St. Joseph Primary School's traditional group and local poets.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy screenings of various films produced by Beitbridge-based filmmakers. The opening ceremony will feature the following films:

- "The Blink" by Vlequa Films


- "The Bridge" by Donzvo Entertainment


- "My Maid, My Best Friend" by Classic Movies


- "Sometimes in Life" by Classics

Over the next two days, the festival will offer an array of activities, including workshops, additional film screenings, and the production of a short film.
