THIS August will leave a mark in the Bulawayo music scene as the Indosakusa "The Morning Star" (IMS) set to host a musical concert in the city of kings.
The event is set to take place at the famous Bulawayo Theatre on the 31st of August this year.
The concert which has been nicknamed "The Return of the Giants" marks the comeback of the Bulawayo Giants choral group.
The group also received a double ZIMA nomination last year under the Best Traditional (Folk/Ezomdabu/Imbube) where they battled out against Amaqaqa and Sikhosana Buhlungu.
They were also nominated under the Best Group/Duo category in the same pit against Fusion 5 Mangwiro, The Vine and Vabati VaJehova.
All in all IMS has collected seven accolades in their name comprising of national and international awards.
According to information sourced by this publication, the musical group has not been hosting shows for a long time. The musical group comprises senior and a juniors group.
Apart from the music business the group recently ventured into income generating projects since musical shows are not paying enough in Bulawayo, thus ventured into into saloon business.
The tickets to "The Return of the Giants Concert" are going for US$5 for an advance ticket whilst at the gate the tickets will double the amount.
By the time of the press the representative from Indosakusa "The Morning Star" was not available to give comment on the preparations of the big show.
Indosakusa the morning star formerly known as Impumelelo shining stars is a male member
choral, music group which specializes in imbube, isicathamiya and gospel fused with different
dances, both modern and traditional.
IMS was founded on the 7th of May 2001 in Mapane Village, Ward 7, Enqameni Gwanda, Matabeleland South Province, Zimbabwe.
IMS has performed their art in various festivals which include Ibumba International festival by (SMP) Sabela music Production,
Harare International Festival of Arts, (HIFA) in 2008, IMS show was sold
out.
IMS has successfully toured and performed in Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, D.R.C, Malawi,
Mozambique, Swaziland and South Africa.
