ZIMBABWE men's national Cricket team, Chevrons are through to the final of the All Africa Games played in Accra, Ghana after stunning Kenya by a massive 71 runs in the semi-final.
Chevrons were exceptional with the bat and the ball giving the rivals a higher score to chase in a t20 match played on Thursday afternoon.
Zimbabwe batted first and set a target of 197 after losing 5 wickets, this target was too high to chase for the Eastern Africa rivals, Kenya.
Johnathan Campbell led the Chevrons top scorers lists with 42 runs from 27 deliveries, he was later dismissed by Vishil Patel.
Chevron's skipper Clive Madande was on fire after he posted a quick score of 41 runs off 23 deliveries with a strike rate of 178.26.
Tashinga Musekiwa completed the Zimbabwe's innings and posted 39 runs from 10 balls, hitting 5 maximum boundaries and two fours with a strike rate of 390.
Kenya's Vishil Patel grabbed two wickets after dismissing big wickets of Campbell and Brian Bennet, his efforts were not enough to give Kenya a victory.
Kenya batted for 19.1 Overs, managing 126 all out giving Chevrons a huge victory of 71 runs.
Zimbabwe will lock horns against the southern africa rivals Namibia on Saturday 23rd of March in the final as Kenya will pit against Uganda for the bronze medal.
Zimbabwe were placed in group B alongside Namibia, Tanzania and Nigeria whereas Kenya were in the same group alongside Uganda, South Africa and Ghana.
Zimbabwe topped the group with six points after thrashing all their rivals whereas Kenya were second in their group of which Uganda were the leaders of Group A.
