This is the longest holiday on the christian calendar, that dominates the contemporary world, since it's a four-day celebration.
In this segment the scribe will unfold the history, significance and traditions of Easter holidays based on research from previous publications and interviews.
Easter is a christian holiday that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, as described in the New Testament in the Holy Bible.
It is celebrated on the first Sunday following the first full moon after the spring equinox and for Christians, Easter represents new life, hope, and the promise of eternal life.
According to the New Testament, Jesus Christ was crucified on a Friday and then rose from the dead on the third day, christians believe that the resurrection of Jesus Christ demonstrates God's love and power, as well as the promise of eternal life for all who believe in Jesus Christ
The word "Easter" comes from the Old English word "Eostre," which referred to a pagan festival celebrating the goddess of spring and fertility.
Many churches pentecostal, evangelical, catholics, baptist churches hold special services from Good Friday till Easter Sunday, often beginning with a sunrise service, the services usually include readings from the Holy Bible, prayers, and music.
Some churches also hold a symbolic reenactment of the events of Holy Week, including the Last Supper, the Crucifixion, and the Resurrection.
The most well-known Easter tradition is the Easter egg, eggs are often seen as a symbol of new life and are used to represent the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Some people also decorate eggs as part of the Easter celebration.
Another popular Easter tradition is the Easter Bunny, the tradition of the Easter Bunny originated in Germany, where children believed that the Easter Bunny would bring them eggs and candy on Easter morning.
The tradition of decorating Easter eggs has been around for centuries, and it has several different meanings and origins.
Another philosophy postulates that the practice of coloring eggs originated in the ancient Persian Empire, where eggs were dyed red to symbolize the blood of Christ.
On the contrary, another publication suggests that the tradition of hiding eggs came from the belief that the Easter Bunny would hide eggs for children to find.
Regardless of its origins, the tradition of decorating and hiding Easter eggs is now an important part of the holiday for many people.
This year's Easter holidays will be celebrated from the 29th of March till the 1st of April, beginning with the Good Friday where the christian community remembers the crucifixion of their saviour Jesus Christ after being betrayed by Judas Iscariot.
The next day is Saturday and then followed by Easter Sunday which is believed to be the resurrection Sunday, when it is believed that Jesus Christ conquered death and the grave couldn't contain him He resurrected from death.
This period of Easter is normally associated with christian community having Holy communion in remembrance of how Jesus Christ suffered on the cross and died for sinners to be saved.
In some churches they eat bread alongside wine which symbolizes the body of Christ and the blood of Jesus, as it is mentioned in the New testament of the Christian Holy book, the bible, that the christians should do this more regularly in remembrance of the son of God.
