Bulawayo based Arenel Movers FC bagged their first maximum points in the topflight league after edging past fellow newcomers Bikita Minerals at Luveve Stadium on Saturday.
Speaking in during an interview Arenel Movers assistant coach openly admitted that a win was essential to bring positive energy within the camp and it came at the right time.
"We needed a victory and we got one look at how most teams have been securing wins either home or away, yesterday we did extremely well everything worked according to plan we wanted an early goal and we got one so that we settle and control the game".
"We didn't involve some senior player due to injuries especially Moses Jackson, while Simon Munawa has been excused due to family problems. Credit to the boys who stood up in the absence of senior players", said Junior Takavarasha.
It was the sweet boys who found the back of the net first in the 17th minute through Brian Ngwenya from a well build up play a pulse raising match as both teams played attacking football displaying thirst for victory.
Visitors Bikita Minerals levelled matters inside the first half from a well taken corner kick which left Arenel goalkeeper Aaron Ngwenya exposed.
After countless efforts from both debutants, the sweetboys restored their lead through a scramble in the 68th minute and Arenel Movers took control of the game infront of home fans and the match ended 2-1 in favour of Arenel Movers FC.
In the absence of veteran senior players Moses Jackson, Simon Munawa and Ricardo Sibanda some players made their debut which incident Polite Mwenda, Daniel Magaiza and Grant Chikwenhese.
However there was much drama elsewhere as Yadah received a 2-1 defeat to Simba Bhora in their first game at the Heart Stadium which saw star player Khama Billiat being substituted during the first half due to an early injury.
Misery continue to pile on Champions Ngezi Platinum Stars as they received yet another defeat to Greenfuel.
The centre of attraction was the match between FC Platinum and Caps United which saw the game being abandoned due to pitch invasion after the Green Machine had a goal ruled out.
The goal for green machine appeared to have been an equaliser through Ralph Kawondera canceling out FC Platinum lead which was scored by Juan Mutudza earlier.
