TABLE toppers Highlanders FC remain unbeaten this season following a one all draw against champions Ngezi Platinum Stars at Baobab stadium.

Champions Madamburo scored an early goal in the opening first 2 minutes of the match through Walter Vuwa.

In search of a quick response Highlanders made several attempts with no avail. It was Mckinnon Mushore and Lynoth Chikuhwa who almost brought Bosso back into the game but however the opponents had formed an organised defence making it difficult to penetrate.

Bosso breathed a sigh of relief after a penalty was rewarded in their favour and the on fire forward Lynoth "Sonjy" Chikuhwa converted from the spot levelling matters in the 65th minute.

It was the striker's fourth goal of the season in 6 matches surpassing his record for last year by double and also leveling the most goals scored by a single player at Bosso last season which was Melikhaya Ncube with 4 goals.

Highlanders head coach Kelvin Kaindu admitted that the match was difficult and highlighted that the players need to build they mental fitness.

"It was a very difficult game I think we conceded very early from that moment we lost focus, this game was more about mental fitness and our character. Second half we managed to come back and get a goal".

"Starting better is good than picking up towards the end and you don't know how the league can end, like I said we are in the building process and we are seeing positive results and from there we can start to compete with other teams", said Coach Kaindu.

Despite sharing spoils Highlanders remain unbeaten this season on top with 14 points while the champions Madamburo has 6 points from 6 matches played.

Elsewhere the game cocks snatched maximum points in a 2-0 win against Greenfuel, Bulawayo Chiefs were hammered to a similar scoreline by newcomers Bikita Minerals.

Manica Diamonds who seem to have found the winning formula recorded their second win in a row after edging past the "students" with another similar scoreline of the day.

Up next Platinum FC are away to newcomers Arenel Movers who are invisible when playing at home. Dynamos make a short trip to Simba Bhora.
