GLOBAL giants from across different sectors have landed in the country for the 63rd Edition of Zimbabwe International Trade Fair(ZITF) set to be held in Bulawayo for five consecutive days.
This year’s edition is expected to be bigger and better as according to organisers, the number of exhibitors increased by 30 percent.
In a Press Conference held on Monday, ZITF Board Chairperson Mr Busisa Moyo said the event is not a centurial but a multi- centurial one that will reflect the goals of innovation for change in Zimbabwe leading to the expected Vision 2030 where the nation will be celebrating it's silver jubilee.
"We've deployed, configured, tested and re-tested our infrastructure, technology and human systems to ensure an adequate state of preparedness to host the thousands of business visitors expected over the next five days," said Mr Moyo.
The five day exhibition is said to have attracted 21 foreign nations that are going to be participating both at nation and individual level.
"A close to 30% increase in exhibitor numbers is commendable. Current figures have us sitting at 533 exhibitors and 46,631 sqm of sold exhibition space, which converts 97% of available exhibition space," he said.
The global innovative platforms that will take place are said to be looking on a subject of, "Transformative, Innovative, Global Competitiveness" a double binal theme.
The official opening ceremony is slated for Friday, April 28. His Majesty King Mswati III is set to officiate at the event alongside His Excellency President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa.
