The 61st edition of the Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival national finals will be held tomorrow at Mucheke Stadium in Masvingo.
Ten groups from the country's ten provinces are set to battle for large financial awards, with the first place winner earning $15,000, the second place winners receiving $10,000, and the third place winners receiving $7,000.
Running under the theme "tamba tione, gida sibone" the festival national finals are set to be graced by performances from Jah Prayzah, Killer T and Tocky Vibes.
The festival, organized by the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) and the Zimbabwe Traditional Dances Association, has been held since 1963 with the support of Delta Beverages.
Below is a detailed list of the national finalists and the Provinces they're presenting:
1. Bulawayo - Khaya Arts (Mutshongoyo Dance).
2. Harare Province - Culture Warriors (Dinhe Dance).
3. Manicaland - Dapuraunanzwa Arts Ensemble (Mbakumba).
4. Mashonaland Central - Dzimbahwe Dance Group (Chinyambera).
5. Mashonaland East - Nyaungwe Dance Group (Mbende Dance).
6. Mashonaland West - Budiriro Arts (Mhande).
7. Masvingo Province - Gango Traditional Dance (Mbakumba).
8. Matabeleland North - Pezhuba Pachena (Nsumbuke Dance).
9. Matabeleland South - Bolamba Performing Arts (Setapa Dance).
10. Midlands Province - Mkango Malawi Nyau Club (Malawi Nyau).
