This August, prepare to be mesmerized by the power of words as The Words Matter Show takes center stage at 61 Heyman Road, Suburbs, Bulawayo, on Friday, 30th August, at 5 pm.
The Words Matter Show is a unique platform that seeks to break down communication barriers and foster understanding through the art of spoken word and poetry.
This month, curator SoxThePoet has joined forces with the Alliance Française of Harare and the French Embassy in Zimbabwe to bring you an extraordinary lineup of performances.
The event kicks off with a special performance by WeCre8te Afrika, followed by an hour-long open mic session where attendees can share their own thoughts, emotions, and experiences. But the highlight of the evening will undoubtedly be the guest performance by the multi-award-winning creative advocate and human rights defender, Banshee.
Hailing from Zimbabwe, Banshee is a force to be reckoned with. Through her remarkable blend of spoken word poetry, storytelling, and Hip Hop, she tackles the most pressing issues of social justice and empowers the masses. Her words are a testament to the strength of the African spirit, embodying love and urging listeners to take action.
As the founder of the womanist movement Shee and the annual mental wellness event Battlescars and Healing, Banshee's work is a beacon of hope and inspiration. Don't miss this opportunity to experience her powerful words firsthand.
Admission is free, and wine will be offered to attendees. So mark your calendars for Friday, 30th August, and get ready to be moved by the transformative power of words.
