By BANO REPORTER

In a groundbreaking moment, Lucara Diamond Corporation unveiled a massive 2,492 carat rough diamond at Karowe Diamond Mine, marking the largest diamond discovery in Botswana's history and the second largest in the world.

The precious gem was presented to His Excellency, Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi, The President of the Republic of Botswana, in a ceremony held earlier yesterday.

This remarkable find is a testament to the cutting-edge technology used at the mine, including the Mega Diamond Recovery (MDR) X-Ray Transmission (XRT) technology. This innovative system is designed to identify and preserve large, high-value diamonds, allowing for the successful extraction of this incredible gem.

The significance of this discovery cannot be overstated, as it highlights Botswana's position as a major player in the global diamond industry. The country is renowned for its rich diamond deposits, and this latest find is a testament to the country's potential for continued growth and development.
