BULAWAYO, Zimbabwe – ZESA Holdings has announced that the national power grid is facing significant challenges in electricity generation, primarily due to a technical fault at the Hwange Thermal Power Station's Unit 8. This situation has led to widespread load shedding across the country.

In an official statement, ZESA Holdings expressed its commitment to its customers, emphasizing that it is actively working to resolve these issues.

The utility noted that as a consequence of the generation shortfall, the implementation of load shedding schedules has become necessary. These measures are essential to balance the limited electricity supply throughout the nation.

“Our technical teams are working diligently to address the fault, aiming to minimize the impact on our valued customers,” the statement read.

ZESA Holdings urged customers to remain patient as it navigates these challenges and hopes to restore normal electricity supply as soon as possible.

The utility company also extended its apologies for any disruptions caused and expressed gratitude for the understanding and support of customers during this difficult period. ZESA Holdings is committed to providing updates as the situation progresses.
