In a significant step forward in the fight against corruption, the Southern African Parliamentarians Network Against Corruption (SAPNAC) and the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) convened a crucial meeting to explore strategic areas of cooperation.

This pivotal encounter, which brought together chairperson of SAPNAC, Mr. Themba Mliswa, and chairperson of the Zimbabwe chapter of the Anti-Corruption Network Against Corruption (APNAC), Deputy Prosecutor General Mr. Nelson Mutsonziwa, along with senior NPAZ officials, signaled a renewed commitment to combatting the corrosive effects of corruption in Zimbabwe and across the region.

The primary aim of this productive meeting was to explore avenues for enhanced collaboration between SAPNAC and NPAZ. A robust agenda focused on discussing mutual areas of interest, including the continuation of collaborative efforts in combating corruption across the region.

As part of these discussions, NPAZ reiterated its commitment to the recently established Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with APNAC, emphasizing the importance of unity in the fight against the corrupt practices undermining democratic governance and accountability.

The meeting also laid the groundwork for future collaborations, highlighting the significance of partnership in the efforts to strengthen anti-corruption measures both locally and regionally. Participants expressed the need to prioritize investigation and prosecution as critical components in the quest to eradicate corruption.

With persistent dialogue and shared objectives, SAPNAC and NPAZ are optimistic that their concerted efforts will greatly contribute to a more accountable governance framework and a corruption-free Zimbabwe.
