The Pumula Royal Community Awards are set to return for their fifth edition, honoring outstanding individuals and organizations making a positive impact in their communities.This prestigious ceremony will take place in Pumula, Bulawayo, on December 21, 2024.
According to Awards Director Happy Mpofu, this year's awards will feature an expanded reach and new categories aimed at enhancing community engagement, encouraging participants from beyond Pumula to come together, exchange ideas, and inspire one another to create positive change.
The awards will kick off with an introductory event on December 1, leading up to the main celebration.
Nominations will be open from September 15, 2024, to October 22, 2024. Interested individuals may submit their nominations by completing the provided form, sending in artwork or talent showcases, and including a submission collection of two CDs.
The eligibility criteria stipulate that works done or published between July 31, 2023, and August 10, 2024, will be considered.
Mpofu emphasized that the awards are a celebration of community spirit and the power of collective action. "We believe that by acknowledging and rewarding community champions, we can inspire a new wave of leaders and change-makers who will continue to drive positive change in our communities," he said
