In a move aimed at empowering Zimbabwe's youth and driving economic growth, 700 young farmers from across the country received heifers today at the Grasslands Research Institute in Marondera.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the Presidential Heifer Pass On Scheme, an initiative launched by His Excellency, President Dr. E.D Mnangagwa.

The event saw Hon. Minister Dr. Anxious Jongwe Masuka hand over the heifers to Hon. Tino Machakaire, Minister of Youths, Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, who then presented them to the deserving young farmers.

Dr. Masuka expressed his gratitude to President Mnangagwa for introducing the scheme, which is designed to transform the lives of young people and contribute to the country's food security and economic growth. He emphasized the importance of empowering youth, stressing that they are key to driving economic growth and achieving Vision 2030.

"This initiative is a testament to the President's dedication to the welfare of our citizens, and we will continue to support our youths in their agricultural endeavors," Dr. Masuka added.

The Presidential Heifer Pass On Scheme is a flagship program aimed at empowering Zimbabwe's youth and catalyzing their role in achieving Vision 2030. By providing heifers to young farmers, the scheme seeks to promote self-sufficiency, entrepreneurship, and food security.

Today's ceremony marked a significant step towards realizing this vision, with 700 young farmers now equipped with the resources they need to succeed in the agricultural sector. As Zimbabwe continues to work towards a more prosperous future, the Presidential Heifer Pass On Scheme is poised to play a vital role in empowering the country's youth and driving economic growth.
