In a bold move to shape the country's future, the Zimbabwe African National Congress (ZANC) officially launched its 2028 election campaign yesterday, promising a brighter future for all Zimbabweans.
ZANC President Timothy Mncube led the launching ceremony, where he acknowledged the significant development strides taken by the current government under President Emmerson Mnangagwa's leadership.
The party praised the government's achievements in infrastructure development, agriculture and food security, and education and healthcare.
Notable milestones mentioned include the expansion of Harare International Airport, the construction of new roads, and the rehabilitation of the public transportation system, which have greatly improved connectivity and access to markets.
"The Command Agriculture program has also contributed to increased food production, ensuring a more prosperous future for farmers and enhanced national food security. Furthermore, the government's efforts to expand access to quality education and healthcare services have led to improved literacy rates and better health outcomes for citizens," said ZANC President Timothy Mncube
However, ZANC believes that there is still much to be done to address the concerns of ordinary Zimbabweans. The party has committed to building on the solid foundation laid by the current administration, focusing on inclusive growth, improved service delivery, and grassroots empowerment.
"We are excited to embark on this journey, driven by the spirit of unity, inclusivity, and a passion for Zimbabwe's prosperity," said President Mncube
"We invite all Zimbabweans to join us in shaping a brighter future, where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive."
At the heart of ZANC's vision is the creation of jobs and stimulation of economic growth through investment in SMEs, tourism, and manufacturing. The party also aims to provide quality education and healthcare services accessible to all, regardless of social class or geographic location. Additionally, ZANC is committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and good governance, ensuring that power rests with the people.
As Zimbabwe gears up for the 2028 elections, the people will be watching closely to see which party will best address their concerns and deliver on its promises.
