Gold Panner Rapes and Murders Woman in Broad Daylight

In a shocking and gruesome incident, a 33-year-old gold panner, Tafadzwa Nkonde, has been arrested and charged with murder after he allegedly raped and killed a woman in Chinhoyi.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe, the horrific events unfolded on August 30, 2024, when Nkonde approached the victim, Nokuthula Mazivisa, as she was walking to her garden in the Dandadale area. He offered her $5 in exchange for sexual favors, but when she refused, he became violent.

Nkonde grabbed Mazivisa from behind, dragged her into the bushes, and raped her. After the horrific act, he took a bottle of pesticide from her handbag and forced the contents down her throat. He then disappeared into the nearby bush, leaving his victim for dead.

Witnesses heard Mazivisa's groans and rushed to her aid. When they arrived, Nkonde reappeared on the scene, and Mazivisa, despite her condition, was able to identify him and recount the ordeal to the witnesses.

Mazivisa was rushed to the hospital, but sadly, she died upon admission. Nkonde was arrested and has been remanded in custody until September 18, 2024.

The community is left reeling in shock and horror at the brutality of the crime, and many are calling for justice to be served.
