In a celebration of Zimbabwe's thriving creative industry, the Zimbabwe Council of Copyrights (ZICCO) is gearing up to host a pivotal event that promises to bring together musicians, corporates, and the general public in a unique fusion of art, culture, and entertainment.
Scheduled to take place on 20th September 2024 at the picturesque Harare Gardens, the "Meet the Artist and Disbursement Program" event is poised to be a milestone occasion in the country's creative calendar.
The event will feature electrifying performances by local talent, as well as a disbursement of royalties to copyright holders, a significant step forward in ZICCO's mission to protect and promote the rights of creators.
At the heart of the event lies the "Meet the Artist" segment, which offers a rare opportunity for artists to connect with their fans, share their creative journey, and showcase their talents. This interactive platform is designed to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the artistic process, as well as provide a unique chance for the public to engage with their favorite artists.
In addition to the entertainment aspect, the disbursement program will see ZICCO distributing royalties to eligible copyright holders, a vital step towards ensuring that creators receive fair compensation for their work. This initiative is a testament to ZICCO's commitment to promoting the welfare of artists and protecting their intellectual property rights.
According to Dr. Tafadzwa Masembura, ZICCO CEO, "We are thrilled to host this event, which will not only celebrate our local talent but also underscore the importance of copyright protection and fair compensation for creators. We invite all musicians, corporates, and members of the general public to join us for an informative and entertaining event."
This event marks a significant milestone for ZICCO, which has been working tirelessly to promote the rights of creators and protect intellectual property in Zimbabwe.
Earlier this year, the organization hosted a similar event in Bulawayo, where over 200 artists from the Matebeleland region received their cash royalties. The event also saw the announcement of a new partnership with Kingdom Blue Funerals, which will provide free funeral plans to all registered ZICCO members.
The "Meet the Artist and Disbursement Program" event promises to be an unforgettable experience, offering a unique opportunity for the public to engage with local talent, learn more about the creative industry, and celebrate the importance of copyright protection. With its rich cultural heritage and thriving artistic community, Harare is the perfect host for this celebration of Zimbabwean creativity.
All musicians, corporates, and members of the general public are invited to attend this exciting event.
