A suspected arson attack left a house in Nkulumane without a sitting room today morning, after a fire ravaged through the property.
The blaze, whose cause is still unknown, was spotted by a passing neighbor who alerted the two ladies sleeping inside the house. The ladies, who were unaware of the inferno, managed to escape unharmed thanks to the timely intervention of the good Samaritan.
The fire, which started in the sitting room, destroyed all property in the area, leaving the owners with significant losses.
The incident has raised concerns among residents in the area, who are calling for increased vigilance and improved firefighting services.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway.
