The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has issued a disciplinary summons to Highlanders FC following the abandonment of their Chibuku Super Cup quarter-final match against Simba Bhora FC. The match, which took place at Wadzanayi Stadium on Sunday, 22nd September 2024, was called off under controversial circumstances, prompting the league to take official action.
In a press release dated 26th September 2024, the PSL confirmed receiving official match reports from both clubs and match officials. Following a review, Highlanders FC has been charged with breaching Chibuku Super Cup rules and regulations, specifically Order 8.8, which relates to causing the abandonment of a match.
As a result, the club has been summoned to appear before the PSL Ad Hoc Committee for a disciplinary hearing scheduled for Tuesday, 1st October 2024 at 17:30 hours at the PSL offices.
