The Zimbabwe Hip Hop Awards (ZHHA) are gearing up for their 14th edition, set to take place in December 2024.
The awards, which celebrate excellence in Zimbabwe's hip hop scene, will be a mix of both virtual and in-person formats, continuing to elevate the country’s music industry.
In a statement, Aldrian "Beefy" Harrison who is the founder of the ZIM HOP AWARDS announced the return of the prestigious awards, emphasizing the new partnership with House of Arts Association.
"We are thrilled to introduce our new partnership with House of Arts Association, who will manage and curate the ZHHA brand starting from 2024. This collaboration marks a significant step in expanding the reach and impact of the awards," Harrison stated.
Along with this new partnership, the ZHHA will also debut a new category, *Spoken Word*, to recognize poets and lyricists. Submissions for all categories are now open, and artists are encouraged to send their performance proposals.
"We’re excited to include spoken word as a category and welcome all artists who wish to perform at ZHHA14 to submit their material," said Harrison.
Important dates include the closing of submissions on Friday, 1 November 2024, and the announcement of nominees on Monday, 18 November 2024.
The Zim Hip Hop Awards will again highlight the creativity, talent, and innovation within Zimbabwean hip hop, with winners receiving the iconic golden gong.
Furter details on the exact date and venue will be shared during the nominees' reveal in November. "We anticipate a truly exciting and celebratory ZHHA 14," Harrison concluded.
