The vibrant rhythms of Afro Jazz will take center stage this Saturday, 19 October 2024, as BS Brown, one of Zimbabwe's rising stars, launches his highly anticipated debut album, Selimathunzi. The launch will take place at Harvest House International Church, Music Hub, located on the corner of 12th Avenue and 5th Street, opposite Track Garage, in Bulawayo.
The album, Selimathunzi, features 8 carefully crafted tracks, blending traditional African sounds with modern jazz elements.
The event, which runs from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM, promises to be a vibrant celebration of Zimbabwean culture and music, with supporting performances from renowned artists such as Ezebhubesi, Progress Sibanda, Black Umfolosi, Ebenezzar Arts Production, Jabulani Arts, Madlela Skhobokhobo, Yes Trust Zim, and more.
During an exclusive interview, BS Brown shared his excitement about the launch. "This album is a reflection of my musical journey and my passion for Afro Jazz. It’s a blend of stories, emotions, and the essence of our heritage," he said.
Selimathunzi explores themes of love, hope, and cultural pride, wrapped in the artist’s unique fusion of jazz and traditional African rhythms.
Fans can enjoy free entry to the event, with VIP and VVIP packages available for $10 and $20, respectively. For those looking to take home a piece of the experience, music CDs will be on sale for $5, while music-loaded USBs will be available for $10.
BS Brown's rise in the Afro Jazz scene has been meteoric. Known for his electrifying performances and the authenticity he brings to his music, his debut album promises to solidify his place as one of Zimbabwe’s most promising Afro Jazz artists. “This album is the start of something greater, and I hope it connects with people across all generations,” he added.
