Bulawayo, December 6, 2024 – A delegation from the City of Bulawayo, led by His Worship Senator David Coltart, Mayor of Bulawayo, is in Rabat, Morocco, attending the prestigious Africa Investment Forum (AIF).

Accompanied by Town Clerk Mr. Christopher Dube and Director of Water and Sanitation Engineer Sikhumbuzo M. Ncube, the team seeks to mobilize resources for critical water and sanitation projects that address the city’s short, medium, and long-term needs.

The AIF, a leading transaction-focused platform, is an initiative of the African Development Bank in collaboration with seven founding partners, including Afreximbank, Africa50, Africa Finance Corporation, Development Bank of Southern Africa, European Investment Bank, Islamic Development Bank, and Trade and Development Bank.

Under the theme "Leveraging Innovative Partnerships for Scale," this year’s forum emphasizes collaboration to drive transformative projects across Africa. For Bulawayo, the event provides an opportunity to secure investments that will improve the city’s water and sanitation infrastructure, which is critical to the well-being of its residents and sustainable urban development.

By participating in the AIF, the City of Bulawayo is positioning itself as a progressive municipality committed to addressing its challenges through strategic partnerships and innovative solutions. The delegation’s efforts underscore the importance of leveraging regional and international platforms to enhance local service delivery and resilience.

As the forum progresses, Bulawayo’s representatives are actively engaging stakeholders to attract the necessary funding and expertise to realize the city’s developmental goals.
