BARELY a week after meeting fans in Harare where he performed in 4 different venues, legendary musician Jeys Marabini is set to take his "Jeys Marabini Meet the People Tour" to Bulawayo, where he is currently based.
The Bulawayo tour will kick off this Sunday with a one day show at Red Cafe, then from there Marabini and band are set to perform in different community halls and constituencies in the city with an aim of entertaining the fans as well as promoting Marabini's latest album 'Xola' (Forgive), which is his 10th studio offering.
Speaking to BANO NEWS, Marabini said:
"The Bulawayo show is just a continuation of 'Jeys Marabini Meet the People Tour' that we started last week in Harare. We just want to perform everywhere, at bars, community halls and different constituencies with the aim of promoting our 10th Album 'Xola' (forgive) which we released last year. So we are busy promoting it so that people know it and see us perform," said Marabini
Jeys Marabini is an acoustic rhythm guitarist and vocalist from Filabusi but has plied his trade mostly from the City of Kings. He was this year in January honoured with a lifetime achievement for his contribution to the local arts.
Categorized as afro centric traditional music, Marabini's earlier music spanned a fusion of Marabi style of music, Afropop and Jazz, while his later music features more pop and world music elements.
