THE vibrant city of Bulawayo is on the cusp of a creative revolution with the imminent launch of Qoki Creative Productions, a dynamic new arts group that's poised to electrify the local arts landscape.

Co-founded by Quiet K Ncube, a Zimbabwean with a passion for the arts from the United States, and Zandile Cebolethu Weza, a seasoned artist from Bulawayo with a wealth of experience, including her tenure at Khaya Arts, the group is gearing up to make a lasting impact.

Scheduled to make its grand debut on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the esteemed Salukazi Arts Centre in Njube, Qoki Creative Productions promises to bring a fresh perspective to Bulawayo's thriving arts industry.

According to Ncube, the group's formation was driven by a shared vision to inject new energy and creativity into the local arts scene.

"We founded Qoki Creative Productions out of a deep-seated passion to expand the Bulawayo arts industry and push the boundaries of artistic expression," Ncube explained.

With a talented team that includes the accomplished choreographer Alexander Mhlanga, Qoki Creative Productions boasts a diverse range of artistic talents and a predominantly youthful group of performers.

The group's repertoire spans a wide range of dance styles, making them an ideal fit for various events, from lively beer gardens to sophisticated corporate events and weddings.

"We're eager to showcase our versatility and entertain audiences across different platforms," Ncube said.

The inspiration behind Qoki Creative Productions is a testament to the power of mentorship and artistic lineage. The group's founders draw inspiration from their experiences and the groups that have mentored them, particularly Khaya Arts.

"We're excited to pay tribute to our roots and bring a new flavor to the arts industry," Ncube added.

The name "Qoki Creative Productions" is a deliberate choice, symbolizing the group's arrival in the arts industry and their commitment to creative excellence. "Qoki" represents the act of knocking on doors, signifying the group's eagerness to be part of the artistic conversation, while "Creative Productions" reflects their diverse range of artistic activities.

As Qoki Creative Productions prepares to launch, they're promising the Bulawayo audience an unforgettable experience.

"We invite everyone to join us on this momentous occasion and experience the new energy we're bringing to the arts scene," Ncube said.

With their infectious enthusiasm and creative prowess, Qoki Creative Productions is set to leave an indelible mark on Bulawayo's arts landscape.
