Nkulumane is set to come alive next month as the constituency hosts the International Day of Peace Sports & Arts Festival, an event aimed at uniting the community through the power of sport, creativity, and culture.
The festival, spearheaded by Nkulumane MP Hon. Desire Moyo, will run from September 20 to 21, 2025, bringing together residents, youth, and institutions in a vibrant celebration of peace and togetherness. From thrilling football and netball matches to colorful art showcases, the event promises to be a platform where talent meets community spirit.
But this is more than just games and entertainment. Hon. Moyo says the festival is about fostering courage, fair play, and solidarity:
“Together, let’s inspire, compete, and win for unity!”*
The call has now gone out to institutions, corporates, and community stakeholders to come on board as partners. Support can range from sponsoring awards and prizes, boosting branding and visibility, to offering hospitality, logistics, or essential services. In return, partners will enjoy prime exposure, media recognition, goodwill from the community, and acknowledgement from local leadership.
The initiative is aligned with the United Nations International Day of Peace, and Hon. Moyo believes sport and art are powerful tools to build bridges, empower young people, and strengthen social cohesion.
“This is not just an event; it’s a movement for peace and unity in Nkulumane,”* Hon. Moyo added.
As preparations gather momentum, all eyes are on Nkulumane, where the whistle will blow not just for competition—but for peace, empowerment, and community spirit.
