Earlier today, celebrated comedian Leroy Tadiwanashe Zaware, popularly known as Comic Elder, received a brand-new double cab vehicle from His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House.
The gesture comes shortly after Comic Elder was recognised among 20 outstanding Zimbabwean youths who are excelling in various sectors of society, from arts and entrepreneurship to innovation and community development.
Speaking after receiving the gift, Comic Elder expressed deep gratitude to the President, pledging to use his influence and talent to inspire young people and fight drug and substance abuse.
“I am truly humbled by this recognition from the President. As a youth, I believe our role is to build, not destroy. I will continue to use comedy as a voice to educate, uplift, and motivate young Zimbabweans to stay away from drugs and focus on positive growth,” he said.
President Mnangagwa commended Comic Elder and other young achievers for their contribution to national development, urging them to remain focused and patriotic.
Comic Elder has become one of Zimbabwe’s most influential young comedians, using satire and humour to address social issues while promoting unity and responsible citizenship.
The recognition and presidential gesture mark yet another milestone in Zimbabwe’s ongoing efforts to empower and celebrate youth excellence across all sectors.
