Zimbabwean comedian Leroy Zaware, popularly known as Comic Elder, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa for honouring him with a brand-new Ford Raptor, describing the gesture as a powerful symbol of the government’s commitment to youth empowerment and talent development.

In a message posted on his official Facebook page, Comic Elder thanked the President for recognising his work and the broader creative industry’s contribution to national development.

“I wish to extend my deepest gratitude and appreciation for the exceptional honour you have bestowed upon me through the generous gift of the Ford Raptor. This gesture is a powerful reminder of your commitment to uplifting Zimbabwean youth and empowering talent across diverse sectors. I am truly humbled and motivated to continue serving our nation through creative arts and positive influence,” wrote Comic Elder.

He also extended special thanks to Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, Cde Tinoda Machakaire, acknowledging his instrumental role in supporting and creating opportunities for young Zimbabweans.

“I also wish to convey my heartfelt thanks to the Honourable Minister of Youth Empowerment, Development and Vocational Training, Cde Tinoda Machakaire, whose unwavering support and advocacy made this moment possible. His dedication to creating opportunities for the youth is both inspiring and transformative,” he added.

Comic Elder further expressed appreciation to Mr. Tungwarara, whom he credited for playing a key role in guiding and uplifting young creatives in Zimbabwe.

“His belief in local talent continues to open doors for many of us striving to raise the national flag high,” he said.

The comedian noted that the recognition goes beyond him as an individual, describing it as “a profound encouragement to the entire creative industry.”

The award follows Comic Elder’s recent recognition among 20 outstanding Zimbabwean youths excelling in various fields. The popular entertainer has pledged to use his platform to promote positive values, discipline, and national pride among the youth.

Comic Elder concluded his message by wishing blessings upon the President and expressing his continued commitment to representing Zimbabwe “with pride, discipline, and excellence.”
