In a landmark development for the city’s creative sector, the Pumula Royal Arts and Community Awards (PRACA) and the Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAAs) have announced a powerful collaboration, setting the stage for what promises to be a historic celebration of artistic and community excellence this December.

Following recent discussions and public concerns about the scheduling of the two major events on the same weekend, PRACA Management has clarified that the coincidence will, in fact, serve as a catalyst for unity and shared growth in the arts industry.

According to a statement released by PRACA, both organizing teams have held constructive dialogue and reached an agreement to collaborate in the true spirit of promoting unity, growth, and mutual support among creatives.

The 6th Edition of the Pumula Royal Arts and Community Awards will run from 18 to 20 December 2025, culminating in the main awards ceremony during the day on December 20, while the Bulawayo Arts Awards will follow in the evening. This alignment effectively transforms the day into a citywide festival of creativity and cultural pride.

As part of the collaboration, the Bulawayo Arts Awards delegation will actively participate in the three-day PRACA program, joining community and creative activities. In turn, all PRACA winners, staff, and partners will receive complimentary tickets to attend the BAAs as part of a learning and exchange initiative designed to strengthen creative networks and inspire growth.

“This partnership reflects our shared mission to amplify local talent, strengthen collaboration, and foster inclusivity across all creative spaces.Together, we believe in building bridges, not barriers, and advancing the arts as a unified front," said PRACA Management in a statement.

The move has been widely welcomed as a bold step towards breaking down silos in Bulawayo’s cultural scene, encouraging cooperation between grassroots and mainstream creative platforms.

With both events now united under a shared vision, December 20, 2025, is set to go down as one of the most significant days in Bulawayo’s artistic calendar, a day where unity, talent, and community spirit take center stage.
