From the City of Kings and Queens to the capital, Bulawayo’s own Gugulethu Monica Moyo, popularly known as Lemoniq, has made history after being crowned winner of the Das Deck Zeigt 2025 Open Mic Edition held at the Zimbabwe German Society in Harare.

Lemoniq is fast becoming one of the most talked-about young voices in Zimbabwe’s music scene. Her win adds to an impressive list of achievements, including a Bulawayo Arts Awards Newcomer nomination, a European tour, and a standout performance at the Imbokodo Concert where she wowed the crowd with her mix of culture, creativity, and raw talent.

The Das Deck Zeigt Open Mic platform has become a space for fresh voices to shine, and Lemoniq proved she’s more than ready for the spotlight. Her confidence, soulful sound, and electrifying stage energy left no doubt that she’s a force on the rise.
