The Nkulumane Constituency Development Committee (NCDC) has announced that a Meet-the-Candidates Town Hall Meeting will be held on Sunday, 7 December 2025, at Nkulumane Hall, beginning at 2pm.

The community-led initiative aims to give Nkulumane residents a direct platform to engage with all parliamentary candidates participating in the forthcoming by-election. The by-election follows the passing of Nkulumane MP Desire Moyo on 10 October.

According to the NCDC, the Town Hall will enable candidates to present their manifestos, outline their development plans for the constituency, and answer questions from residents in a transparent, structured environment.

The invited candidates include:

  • Esther Auxilia Zitha (Independent)

  • Ethel Sibanda (MDC-T)

  • Nompilo Ncube Malaba (ZANC)

  • Alson Moyo (Zimbabwe Economic Freedom Fighters – EFF)

  • Rodney Donovan Jele (Independent)

  • Mbuso Fuzwayo (Independent)

  • Freedom Murechu (ZANU PF)

  • Mothusi Ndlovu (CCC)

  • Siziba Viyo Vivian (ZAPU)

The event is being organised by the NCDC under the leadership of Chairman Andrew Ndlovu, working alongside community leaders known as square leaders, with the aim of ensuring broad participation from Wards 22 and 23.

The Committee says the Town Hall seeks to promote an informed electorate by helping residents understand the priorities, policy positions, and development capacity of each candidate. The format is designed to strengthen citizen-led democracy and enhance community involvement in the constituency’s political processes.

All accredited media are invited to provide full coverage, while a live stream will also be made available to allow Nkulumane residents both locally and abroad to follow proceedings in real time.

Describing the event as a “historic platform,” the NCDC encouraged all residents and stakeholders to attend and take part in shaping the future of Nkulumane.
