The Public Royal Arts and Community Awards (PRACA) has announced that there will be no public voting process for the 2025 edition following technical complications encountered during the setup of their online voting system.
In a public statement released on Wednesday, the PRACA Team said they experienced unexpected technical issues while integrating voting links onto their official website. After an internal assessment, the organisation concluded that proceeding with an unstable system could jeopardise the professionalism, fairness and overall integrity of the awards.
To safeguard the credibility of the selection process, PRACA has appointed an independent Decision Making Board. The board will be responsible for reviewing all submissions and determining the final results for this year’s awards.
PRACA assured stakeholders that despite the shift from public voting, fairness, accountability, and transparency would remain at the core of their evaluation procedures. They emphasised that each nominee will be assessed objectively and ethically.
“We thank you for your understanding and continued support as we work to deliver a meaningful and successful PRACA Edition,” the statement read.
The awards, which celebrate excellence in the arts and community service, will proceed as scheduled, with winners determined solely through the newly appointed board’s adjudication process.
