The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with the Chartered Accountants Academy (CAA) in a milestone collaboration aimed at empowering artists with essential financial and business management skills.

The partnership introduces a ground-breaking initiative called The Creative Ledger, designed to bridge the gap between artistic talent and financial literacy. The programme seeks to blend creative vision with solid accounting knowledge and business discipline — areas that many Zimbabwean creatives have long struggled to access.

Through this collaboration, NACZ and CAA will jointly develop a practical, tailor-made curriculum that addresses the real needs of artists and cultural practitioners. The programme will feature free impact workshops intended to demystify finance, budgeting, and business operations for the wider creative community.

A major component of The Creative Ledger is the creation of an accredited Creative Entrepreneur Certificate. The certificate will offer two specialised pathways: one tailored for artists working in studios, and another for arts managers running creative operations.

Both institutions say the initiative will strengthen professional standards in the arts sector, helping creatives make informed financial decisions, build sustainable careers, and better position themselves within the growing creative economy.
