The Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Fund, in partnership with Tendy Three Investment (TTI) Pvt Ltd, on Monday distributed food hampers to 1,400 vulnerable residents across Bulawayo, bringing festive relief to disadvantaged communities in the city.

The official handover ceremony was held at the Mpopoma Social Welfare Office, while parallel distributions took place at 10 other housing offices across the city to ensure wide coverage.

Speaking at the event, Acting Mayor and Councillor Edwin Ndlovu commended TTI Pvt Ltd for its continued commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society, particularly during the festive season.

“We appreciate TTI for consistently extending a helping hand to the vulnerable during Christmas. Such partnerships play a critical role in improving the lives of those in need,” said Cllr Ndlovu.

Health, Housing and Education Committee Chairperson and Ward 23 Councillor, Ntombizodwa Khumalo, urged more corporate entities to partner with the Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Fund to enhance support for vulnerable groups.

“Corporate partnerships are key to bringing meaningful cheer to vulnerable members of our society during the festive period,” she said.

TTI Pvt Ltd Managing Director, Mr Lizwe Mabuza, said the initiative was made possible by the Bulawayo motoring public through the payment of parking fees throughout the year. He noted that the donations formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme.

“This support is made possible by motorists who pay parking fees. As TTI, we are proud to give back to the community, and this marks our fifth year partnering with the Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Fund,” said Mr Mabuza.

The Mayor’s Christmas Cheer Fund has remained active throughout the year. In October 2025, the fund distributed proceeds to 10 institutions, while in December it extended assistance to 17 institutions that care for vulnerable members of society.

The fund is administered by a Board of Trustees responsible for mobilising resources to support vulnerable communities across Bulawayo.
