Thobela Arts to promote and celebrate Imbube music genre

Imbube lovers are in for a treat this September as Thobela Arts Foundation is set to host  a two day Imbube show dubbed "Celebrating Imbube Milestone".



The show is set to be held on the 29th-30th September 2023.


Imbube is a  traditional acapella music dominating from South Africa, popularised by several group clusters, Lady Smith Black Mambazo and Zimbabwe's Black Mfolosi among others.



Speaking to BANO NEWS, Thobela Arts Foundation director Oscar Siziba highlighted that  the first day of the show will be mainly focusing on Imbube music, dance, it's history and most importantly a showcase of imbube stalls, gallery, photography, fashion design and food.


The last day of the show will feature performances from the country's different imbube groups.



"Our aim is to celebrate the jounery walked by imbube groups since its existence decades and decades ago , we will be hounoring all imbube groups especially imbube legends who made imbube genre well known and successful and took imbube genre international" 


"We will be celebrating the works and success done by imbube creatives leading to one of our aims that reflects on promoting imbube culture spreading the gospel of the genre to the people ,motivating them about their culture too," said Siziba
