Gambling has always been said to be a men's hobby, a spare time activity to mingle and catch up during weekends but however the 21st century has proved to be different.
Women have not only taken over what was once called a men's only game but are dominating in the world of sports betting from live soccer, dog racing, lucky numbers to the traditional horse racing.
Predicting accurately collecting their rewards after each and every few minutes of these virtual games, one would wonder if these ladies are cheating through their accurate guessing.
Speaking in an interview sports analyst and administrator Mayfield Daka highlighted that this might have to do with the prevailing harsh economic conditions and closure of companies leaving sports bets the only means for quick money.
"It's the Economy of the Country there is no employment and source of income is not there in Many homes most companies have closed and it forces them to look for money through betting", he said.
When the BANO news crew visited betting sites around Bulawayo it was observed that most women indeed dominate the sports betting arenas especially towards lunch to bet in on, "lunchtime lucky numbers" and also horse racing.
