ZIMBABWE African National Congress(ZANC) party leader Timothy Mncube has been invited to President Emmerson Mnangagwa's Inauguration to be held on a date to be announced.
President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa of ZANU-PF won the August 23 Presidential elections with 2 350 711 votes, which equates to 52.6 % of the total votes cast, whilst the CCC's Nelson Chamisa garnered 1 967 343 votes, translating to 44% of the total votes cast.
Mncube told BANO NEWS that:
"I have been invited to attend the Presidential Inauguration.l have sent my documents for Accreditation"
"On behalf of ZANC i would like to thank all our supporters who voted for us. We appreciate you a lot. Even though the outcome was not what we expected but we took it as a learning experience.This was our first election and I would like to say ZANC IS HERE TO STAY and we are now focusing on the future.To everyone else who didnt win there is always a next time. Lets continue being a peace loving nation," said Mncube
ZANC contested for 5 Member of Parliament seats and 6 Council seats in Bulawayo and the results were promising and far much better than of other political parties who have been in the game for sometime now.
The party leader Mncube said his party is here to stay and he will be contesting for the Presidential seat in 2028.
2028 the party says it's also expecting to have more Council and Member of Parliament candidates across the country not Bulawayo only.
