The National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA), Zimbabwe's premier arts awards ceremony, is set to unveil the nominees for its 2025 edition on February 12th, 2025, at 10:00 AM on their Facebook page and YouTube Channel.
This year's edition of the NAMA Awards promises to be bigger and better, with a significant boost from the Culture Fund's CreativeActions2 initiative, supported by the European Union Delegation. The awards received a substantial grant of USD 7,000, which will undoubtedly enhance the overall production and execution of the event.
The NAMA Awards, which celebrate excellence in Zimbabwean arts, have consistently provided a platform for local artists to showcase their talents and receive recognition for their outstanding contributions to the arts industry.
This year's event, themed "Afro Futurism," promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Zimbabwean art and culture. The ceremony will take place on March 1st, 2025, at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC), and will feature an exciting lineup of performances, awards, and special guest appearances.
Last year's ceremony, held in Bulawayo, the second-largest city in Zimbabwe and affectionately known as the "Home of Arts," was a resounding success, with artists and art enthusiasts from across the country gathering to celebrate the best of Zimbabwean arts.
The unveiling of the nominees on February 12th, 2025, marks the beginning of the countdown to the main event, and art enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the announcement.
