EZIKO Theatre Laboratory, a renowned performing arts platform, is set to celebrate its 16th anniversary on February 28th at Nkulumane Hall.
The milestone event promises to be an unforgettable experience, featuring a star-studded lineup of performances, including renowned artists IYASA, EZIMNYAMA, musician Bhila, Madewa and Abantwana beNsindiso yamaNazareth & KAISA.
According to Tilbert Nkosi, Director of Victory Siyanqoba Trust, the organization behind EZIKO Theatre Laboratory, the platform has played a significant role in nurturing local talent.
"EZIKO has provided a safe space for artists to experiment, take risks, and showcase their work.We're incredibly proud of the impact we've had on the local performing arts scene," said Nkosi
The celebration will kick off with a vintage culture parade by the Vintage Association, starting from Nkulumane One Way at 11:30 am. The parade will make its way to Nkulumane Hall, where live performances will commence at 1 pm.
Community leaders, including councillors and Member of Parliament for Nkulumane Constituency Hon Desire Moyo, will also be in attendance.
EZIKO Theatre Laboratory has a rich history of hosting renowned artists, including Madlela Sikhobokhobo, Sandra Ndebele, and Clement Magwaza. The platform has also provided a launchpad for emerging talent, showcasing their work to a wider audience.
As EZIKO Theatre Laboratory marks this significant milestone, Nkosi expressed his gratitude to the community for their continued support.
"We're honored to have had the opportunity to contribute to the growth of local talent," Nkosi said. "We look forward to continuing to provide a platform for emerging artists and pushing the boundaries of creative expression."
