In a significant advancement for Zimbabwe’s tourism sector, a new partnership was forged yesterday in Belarus during the State Visit by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde. Dr. E.D. Mnangagwa. The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon Barbara Rwodzi, formally signed a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with representatives of the Republic of Belarus aimed at enhancing tourism cooperation between the two countries.
The agreement emphasizes the promotion of people-to-people exchanges across various tourism niches including AgroTourism, Medical Tourism, Industrial Tourism, and Sports Tourism. Additionally, it sets the stage for collaborative efforts in joint marketing initiatives, sustainable tourism practices, capacity building, and fostering robust public-private partnerships.
This landmark MoU signals a promising trajectory towards expanding Zimbabwe’s tourism footprint and strengthening bilateral relations with Belarus. It underscores the pivotal role tourism plays as a catalyst for diplomatic engagement, economic development, and international connectivity.
