In a bold move to enhance transparency and efficiency in public procurement, the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) has successfully conducted electronic Government Procurement (eGP) system training workshops across the country's provinces.
Over 2000 procurement professionals benefited from the hands-on training, which aimed to equip them with the necessary skills to navigate the eGP system.
The training workshops, held in Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru, Masvingo, and Mutare from January 16 to 24, 2025, were designed to promote the use of the eGP system, which is a secure web-based application managed by PRAZ. The system enables public entities and bidders to conduct procurement activities electronically, enhancing competition, transparency, efficiency, and integrity in public procurement.
In addition to the eGP training, PRAZ also conducted Affirmative Procurement Guidelines validation workshops, which targeted formerly marginalized groups, including small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), war veterans, women, youths, and people living with disabilities.
These workshops aimed to promote inclusive procurement practices and provide opportunities for marginalized groups to participate in public procurement.
